There are dozens of websites where you'll find tips, advice and recommendations about the World of Warcraft, but if you want the most comprehensive and definitive site, go to the authority: World of Warcraft's community site. Whether you're a newbie, a recently addicted or a seasoned, hardened player, this is where you'll find all the resources you need to play, interact and survive in the virtual world of Azeroth.

Getting started
The Game Guide will let you access necessary information and knowledge you'll need to begin playing WoW. For anyone who has never played the game before or is just slightly familiar with it, it's best to start here. You can always go straight and bury yourself in the game as soon as you get your hard earned copy, but trust us, it's better if you load yourself with information first. Otherwise, the actual game might leave you flummoxed and paralyzed. If you want to survive and avoid embarrassing yourself, know the nature of the game before you play it.

Probably the most important decision you'll ever make as a WoW player is determining your faction. As one of the WoW characters, you can only choose one side: either as a member of the Alliance or of the Horde. Learn about all the different character classes and races so you can decide which one you want to become. You can create a maximum of 10 characters for each realm and 50 characters for each account.

Remember that you can customize your characters based on your own preference and how you perform in the game will depend on who you are. Getting in the realm
Another important link you need to know about is the Realm. This is actually a server cluster, where players can choose what type of game they want to play. There are four realms to choose from, each with its own set of challenge levels and roleplaying rules. The status of each realm (also called issues) is posted on the official website.

Armory Database
Recently, the Armory Database has been added on the site. From the homepage, you can access the database to search for and compare items regardless of their type and rarity. You can also find the type of upgrades you've been eyeing for or at least browse through what's available. The Armory is a searchable database of all the items used in WoW, allowing you to obtain information from the game servers themselves, the actual ones being used during gaming. The Armory is also integrated with the game's character profiles, so you don’t confuse your search for items which are not naturally available to your avatar. The Armory also lets you refine your search using advanced filters.
